Content Post - Post Category
Creating a Root Category for Content Posts
Before you create a post type, you should finalise your root category structure first. Each Post Type will need to have a Root Category. The Root category will be used to only display posts within that root and it's children. Only the Marketplace Owner will have access to modify/create categories.
NOTE: There has been a menu restructure in Omnyfy Release v4.0.6, and some menu items from this guide may have moved. Please see the menu update in the release notes if you are on this release or later: View the Release Notes for Omnyfy v4.0.6
- As a Marketplace Owner, log into the back end and go to Marketplace Management > Post Content > Post Category.
- The page will load with the category structures.
Here you can select Add Root Category from the top left.
Populate category information.
Field | Notes |
Enable Category | Set this to Yes to use it for a Post Type |
Category Title | Set the title of this category |
Position | Set the positioning of this category (can be ignored for Root Categories) |
Category Icon | Used for displaying categories in the Root category page (can be ignored for Root Categories) |
Category Snippet | Short description of the category. No more than 800 characters. |
- Once you have populated the information, select Save.
This will be used as the Root Category for the Post Type.
