Content Post - Post Type

The post type is where you manage a lot of the design and attribute elements for the posts. Each post within the post type will inherit the design, functionality and attributes.
NOTE: There has been a menu restructure in Omnyfy Release v4.0.6, and some menu items from this guide may have moved. Please see the menu update in the release notes if you are on this release or later: View the Release Notes for Omnyfy v4.0.6

Accessing the Post Type

As a Marketplace Owner, you can log in and manage the Post types by going to Marketplace Management > Post Content > Post Types



Here you will see a list of post types, or you can create new post types.



You can edit any existing post type by going to Action > Select > Edit



This will open up the Post Type detail page.



Creating a New Post Type

There are are a lot of different options you can set here, which include display, functionality and permissions.


Basic Information

Select Active to enable this Post Type
Post Type Name
Input the name of this Post Type (EG Blog, Events, Job Listings, etc)
Post Collection Page URL
The Collections page is the main listing and search page for this Post Type, so this will be where your Root Category will come in. Input the URL you would like to set for this Post listings.

EG. If the Collection page is called Job Listings, then the URL should be job-listings. The Collection main page will be visible on the front end as {marketplacename.com}/job-listings

Any post under this Post Type will be {marketplacename.com}/job-listings/{post-name}

Select Root Category for Posts
Choose the Root Category where all posts for this Post type will use as the Category structure. Only the sub categories from this Root Category will be available to select when creating a post in this Post Type.

Advanced Properties

Enable Assignment to Vendor
Set this to Yes if you would like to allow Vendors to post on this Post Type (they will be able to have access to this in the back end). Marketplace Owners can also assign the Post to a Vendor if they are creating a post. Vendors will automatically have posts assigned to them if they are creating the post.

Vendors can see the Post Type in Marketplace Management > Post Type



Set this to No if this Post Type will be restricted only to Administrator management and posting. Vendors will not be able to see this Post Type in the back end.
Visible On Vendor Front Store
Set this to Yes if you would like to show vendor posts on their profile page.
Enable Related Posts
Set this to Yes if you would like to allow showing or adding Related Posts on the post.

If set to No, the Related Posts tab will not be available in the back end when creating a post for this Post Type.
Enable Related Products
Set this to Yes if you would like to allow showing or adding Related Products on the post.

If set to No, the Related Products tab will not be available in the back end when creating a post for this Post Type
Location Based Post
Set this to Yes if the post requires adding a location (or is tailored around locations). This will show a map at the bottom of the post. This will also enable the mandatory Location tab in the back end when creating a post for this Post Type. The tab will contain address fields for input to use for the map and display on the Front End.

If set to No, the Location tab will not be available in the back end when creating a post for this Post Type
Limit Post to Customer Groups
Set this to Yes if you would like to allow this Post Type to only be visible to certain customer groups. If this is set to Yes, then this will show another field to show the customer groups to select.


Requires Approval
Set this to Yes if a vendor post requires approval before it is posted. This means that posts by the vendor will remain as Inactive until it is reviewed and approved by the Marketplace Owner.

If Approved, the post will be visible on the front end.

If Rejected, the post will not be visible on the front end.


Display Properties

Enable Search
Set this to Yes if you would like to allow customers to search for posts on the front end. This will display a search bar at the top of the Post Collection page.

NOTE: The filters for the Search will be based on the Attribute Properties.
Sort
Choose which criteria to sort the posts in the Post Type Category view. The options are:
- Sort by Date Newest First
- Sort by Date Oldest First
- Sort by Post Title
Display on Homepage
Set this to Yes if you would like to showcase the recent posts from this Post Type on the home page.
Number of Posts to show on Homepage *
This will allow you to set the amount of posts to show on the homepage, for this Post Type. Number values only.

*Please note, this field will only appear if Display on Homepage is set to Yes
Show only Featured *
Set this to Yes if you only want featured posts to appear on the homepage. The Featured Selector is only visible to Marketplace Owner for any Post Type

Post Collection Style
Sets the display of the Posts on the Collection pages. Customers cannot change the displays.

There are 3 styles to choose from:

Grid View



List View



Table View


Category Position
Leave this as Above Post for now, as this is currently the only available option
Filter Position
Leave this as Left of Post, as this is currently the only available option
Display Post Author
Set this to Yes if you would like to show the Post Author on the post. The Post author will be a clickable link, that will customers to a collection page that will show all of the author's posts.
Position of Additional Post Content
Set where you would like to display the additional Post Attributes. The options are:
- Above Post
- Below Post
Enable Sharing
Set this to Yes if you would like to enable the Add This feature. If enabled, this will display the Add This Configuration field under it.

Additional Front End Scripts



This field enables front end resources to add additional scripts if required, for front-end rendering for this post type.

Enquiry Form



If set to Yes, this will enable the Enquiry form in the front end for a customer to send to the author.
