Creating your Google Analytics Tracking Code

Google Analytics can help you to get additional tracking for your marketplace.

This guide is designed to help you set up the linking of you Google Analytics account (Universal Analytics) to the Omnyfy platform, and does not cover SEO advice. Please consult your SEO company / Expert for support in using the Google Analytics platform.

Please be aware that Google Universal Analytics (UA) will no longer track after 1st July 2023. Please ensure you have GA4 implemented. See this link for more information.

How to create or get your Google Analytics Tracking Code:

If you haven't already set up an account please follow the steps below:

1) Click on the Create Account Button.




Complete the following information to create a new analytics account

2) Enter your account name

The account name can be the name of your marketplace.



Once completed, proceed to the Next step.

3) Input the property details




Once complete, proceed to the Next step.

4) Input your business information



Once completed, select Create at the bottom.

5) Accept the terms and conditions.



Once you select the tick box, choose I Accept.

6) Choose your Universal Analytics Property.

Depending on what you already have in your existing Google Analytics and what you have just created, you may see the following:



Universal Analytics will often contain (UA) at the beginning of their tracking ID. This is what you need to select.

7) Obtain Tracking ID

Once you have selected the GA4 property, navigate to Data Streams and select your existing Stream.



A pop up will appear, where you can select View tag instructions.



Another pop up will appear where you can copy the Google Tag code.



Once copied, you can then input the code into the marketplace. See Adding Google Tag Manager to your Marketplace for more instructions.
