Marketplace Owners / Vendors and Customers can communicate with each other within each of the proposals, even before the proposal is sent (if in the pre-proposal stage, only the vendor can initiate the communication).
Communication as a Customer
The customer can communicate with the vendor from the Proposal view. The messages tab will allow you to send a message directly.
The left icon allows you to add an attachment (usually 2MB limit). The arrow button to the right sends the message to the Vendor. The Vendor is then notified by e-mail when a submission is made.
Request Changes
The Request Changes button of the proposal view also behaves in the same way. This button will only appear if the proposal hasn't already been accepted.
If files are attached, you can access them from the Messages, or the Files tab. The Files tab will contain the separate files uploaded by the Vendor and Customer. The Files tab is only there as a directory of saved files, so you can only use the Messages tab to submit files.
When files are attached via messages, they
will appear as below.
Receiving a Response from the Vendor
If a Vendor sends a message to the Customer, the Customer will then receive an e-mail notification. The Project will show the New Message prompt as well, in the Customer Project Dashboard.
You can also see this directly from the Proposal in the Project tile.
Inside the Proposal view, customers will also be able to see a prompt to show unread messages or files.
Customers can continue to respond and attach files (1 file at a time).
Communication as a Vendor
As a Vendor, communication can be accessed through the Proposal Details view. On the left of the Proposals menu, there is a Communication and Files tab which will have a similar layout. The Choose file button allows you to upload files. You can only attach files through the Communication tab. The Files tab is only there as a directory of saved files.
