Project Bidding - Comparing Proposals (as a customer)

Accessing the Compare Proposals page

If the submitted proposal has Custom Proposal Questions, then customers can compare the answers from multiple proposals that have been sent. This can be found in the Compare Proposals tab inside the Project Detail page, by logging in as a customer (with the received proposals), and navigating to My Projects > Select Project or View Proposals > Compare Proposals.

Each proposal can have multiple answer groups.

If configured, the vendor may also be able to send multiple proposals, each with their own answer groups.

Generally, each proposal can include a Featured Image which will be shown at the top of each proposal.

From here customers can view more details about the proposal by clicking on View Proposal.

If the table has many columns, sometimes they may not all appear on the same view with the page, due to the page width. There is also a functionality to allow customers to view this full screen at the top of the comparison table.

The customer can then view the full table on the browser window - some side scrolling may still be needed if there are more columns however this view fills up the full browser. They can then close this view using the x from the top right.

Shortlisting proposals

Customers who have received a number of different proposal custom question answers may see a long list and find it difficult to compare with so many listings. The shortlist feature allows the customer to shortlist each individual answer group, starting with the first custom proposal question. You will notice a star icon to the left of the first answer of the group (after the Featured Image if applicable).

Selecting this star will shortlist this proposal answer group. You can also shortlist all answers from a proposal by selecting the shortlist button on the left. This will automatically select all groups.

If you pressed the dropdown's right arrow, you can select Shortlist Individual.

Selecting Shortlist Individual will allow you to select from a checklist based on the first answer.

Comparing Shortlists

Once a selection has been made to shortlist a few answers, customers can then choose to simply compare only the shortlisted proposals. At the top right of the Compare Proposals page, a View Shortlist button can be selected.

This will take the customer to a full screen view, filtering out the non-shortlisted selections from the table.

The customer can choose to Export the shortlisted comparison, or unselect the shortlist to see all options. Exported Shortlists will appear as a spreadsheet file, similar layout to the table above. The file will also export and include the featured image.

From here, customers will be able to better compare the filtered shortlist to help choose the vendor proposal they would like to work with. They can view each proposal and accept it, or continue to communicate with the vendor for changes to the proposal, or request more information.
